Part of the "Foothills Trail Series", this painting shows the hikers progress down from the Bald Knob overlook, through a waterfall splashing over the trail to end up at Table Rock State Park below.

We had come from Sassafrass Mountain, the highest peak in South Carolina, on the Foothills Trail, crossing the valley and then up just below Pinnacle Mountain, down to the 180 degree view from Bald Knob and on down to Table Rock State Park. Between the Knob and the Park, we encountered a very rocky section taking us virtually through a waterfall. It wasn't a large fall, but definitely cold and wet! The most challenging part was not slipping on the large wet rocks as we passed though the spray.

Coming down the trail from the spectacular viewpoint, we had to hike through the spray of a cold but refreshing waterfall.
