Adjacent to Savage Mill stands the Bollman Bridge which the B&O Railroad used to deliver raw cotton to the mill for processing and weaving. This bridge is one of the most important historic bridges in the country as it is the last remaining example of the Bollman truss and as such, is unparalleled in historic value. Watching it being painted was fascinating!

This 10"x15" Limited Edition signed print on canvas comes with a 15" x 20" custom gold frame with linen liner and a Certificate of Authenticity, Edition 1 of 100.

Wendell Bollman, noted bridge engineer, designed the bridge utilizing a unique combination truss and cable-stayed design of his own invention. Bollman's design became the first metal truss bridge design to be used in any notable quantity for railroad bridges.

After the fresh red paint was applied with spray and brush, scaffolding supported detail painters to carefully paint the raised numbers and letters proclaiming the dates and manufacturer of the historic Bollman Bridge.
