Oil Painting on canvas with 1-1/2" jumbo stretcher bars extending the image to sides, top and bottom. Part of the "Foothills Trail Series", this painting shows the boat shuttle picking up our group of hikers to cross Lake Jocassee at the end of the day's hike.

Last year, four friends and I decided to hike the 76 mile-long Foothills Trail in in sections, stretching over ten hikes of 5 - 10 miles in length, based on available car or boat shuttle points. It was just such a wonderful experience full of wildflowers, waterfalls, streams, forest, mountain and lake views that I decided to paint a series based on that experience.

This is the first painting of the series, "Pickup at Horsepasture River" where we met the boat provided by Jocassee Lake Tours to take us back to our villa on the lake after a day of hiking.

First in the "Foothills Trail Series", this painting depicts the boat shuttle that picked up our small group of hikers after a day of hiking, taking us back to our villa on Lake Jocassee in Devil's Fork State Park, SC.
